If you’re a True Wireless user, you’ve probably heard the name Pamu from Padmate. Famous on the page calling for Indiegogo with product Pamu X13 and Pamu Scroll when calling for millions of dollars after a short time. These products all have superior quality and features in the price range and are recognized by the world user community.
In 2019, in addition to the Pamu T5 launch earlier this year, Padmate continued to launch its most breakthrough and breakthrough product this year, the Pamu Slide. Expected to be the replacement for Apple Airpods 2, whether that is feasible or not, along with TintucAudio discover this article.
BOXED
Pamu Slide’s box is minimalist with a white outer layer of paper. The front is a drawing depicting the headset and on the back we will have detailed information about the product printed in many languages. Inside is a black hard-paper box with the word Pamu Slide on the front. The boxy way of packing for a cheap product.
The accessories section is quite basic, including:
- 1x Type-C USB charging cable
- 1x Eartips set (size S and L, built-in M size on ears)
- 1x User manual
NEW DESIGN – SMART MORE
In 2018, all True Wireless models were released with a slender shape, no extra parts like Apple Airpods. But gradually, the number of people using Airpods increased and people realized that the extra design was quite convenient to use. Therefore, Pamu Slide has a “breakthrough design” that is like Apple Airpods.
However, Pamu Slide does not stereotype the design of Airpods but still has highlights that make a difference. Most noticeable is the type of ear plugs instead of earbuds.
The housing section is not too big, the sound tube is tilted 45 degrees to help Pamu lie quite neatly in the ear without being protruded out much. You can still wear a fullface helmet while wearing this headset.
In addition, the housing part is also equipped with a rubber cushion to help the ear better grip as well as softer when using for a long time.
The long section of Pamu Slide beyond the purpose of better grip, this is also the area that contains the large Angten of the headset that makes the transceiver extremely stable like Apple Airpods.
Pamu Slide’s charger is a slider, like its name. The feeling of hinges sliding the lid of the lid is quite smooth and interesting, reminding me of the feeling of the slide-out phones the day before.
The body of the charger case is completely constructed from hard plastic, the feel is quite firm. The front is decorated with a grid with pamu logo and a row of battery indicator lights below. Every time you put the headset in the box, this indicator light will light up to tell you the remaining battery capacity of the charger box.
On the charging groove, there is a built-in magnet to help locate the headset when charging is easy and convenient.
The charger has been equipped with a Type-C port that supports fast charging, 5-minute charging for 1 hour, extremely useful in emergencies.
EQUIPMENT TECHNOLOGY ON PAMU SLIDE
CHIP HANDLING QUALCOMM – MORE STABILITY
Pamu Slide using Bluetooth chipset comes from Qualcomm house with code name QCC3020. The information on Padmate’s Indiegogo advertises that this is the most stable True Wireless chip in the current world. According to information I learned from Qualcomm, QCC3020 is the chip line in the basic segment. The top of Qualcomm is the chips with QCC51xx code, but QCC3020 still inherits many advanced features.
This chip supports the latest Bluetooth 5.0 standard for extremely stable connectivity and very low power consumption like the top line QCC5100 Series.
Built with Qualcomm’s proprietary Qualcomm TrueWireless ™ Stereo Plus technology, it increases the ability of transceiver reception as well as reduces the significant delay of the headset.
This chip supports Qualcomm® aptX ™ audio technology to enable Qualcomm’s proprietary Aptx codec for better sound reproduction than popular codecs like SBC or AAC. However, this codec will only be activated if you are using a device that uses Qualcomm’s SoC. In case you use iPhone, the chip will still support the default AAC or SBC codec.
AUTO ON/OFF – AUTO CONNECT
There is no need to press and hold complex startup, no need to connect again every time you disconnect. All you need is to lift the Pamu Slide from the charging box and put it on your ear. Extremely simple and user-friendly operation.
LONGER TIME BATTERY – WIRELESS SUPPORT
Pamu X13’s battery life is 3.5 hours, Pamu Scroll’s 3.5 hours, Pamu T5’s battery is also 3.5 hours, so do you guess how much Pamu Slide’s battery life is? Double is 7 hours?
10 hours of continuous use for a single charge, you’re not mistaken. An additional 50 hours of use with the charging dock in total Pamu Scroll can live continuously for a whole week without charging. Even though the number Padmate offers is only advertising, but usually, the actual use time will not be too much difference, so please celebrate this.
Still not over, Pamu Slide’s Charger Box supports 2-way wireless charging with up to 2000mAh battery capacity. You can use this charging case as a fireproof charger for wireless charging for your phone.
Try math to see if you buy a wireless Airpods 2, how many times will you lose money Pamu Slide?
POSSIBILITY OF NOISE REDUCTION ENVIRONMENT WHEN IMPLEMENTING CALLS
Although Pamu Slide is just a cheap truly wireless headphones, Pamu Slide invests heavily in the customer experience. Not only is the noise filter algorithm commonly used, the noise reduction effect of using multiple recording microphones is always much better.
Equipped with up to 2 microphones on each ear, Pamu Slide has the ability to handle noise outside the environment effectively when you make a call that is almost the same as the way a dedicated headset works.
TOUCH CONTROL
No buttons that make you uncomfortable when operating, Pamu has always used touch technology to control its headphones.
Previously many people complained that Pamu X13 or Pamu Scroll could not increase or decrease the volume, now Pamu Slide has allowed you to do that and still use a simple operation of touching and holding. The other control operations you can refer to the picture below.
WATERPROOF IPX6
In addition to the aforementioned features, Pamu Slide also has IPX6 water resistant ability for strong anti-sweat and rain water, providing maximum support for your sports activities.
EXPERIENCE USE
Anyone who has experienced Apple Airpods will see how familiar Pamu Slide is. Just lift the headset from the charging box and put it on your ear, the headset will automatically power on and connect to your phone.
The feeling of wearing Pamu Slide is very solid. Maybe even better than Apple Airpods because the in-ear deepening structure plus extra housing is specially designed + rubber padding greatly increases adhesion. Pamu Slide gives me a sense of peace of mind, freely moving without worrying about falling like Pamu Scroll before.
The Qualcomm Bluetooth chip, combined with a large-size antenna system, really did a great job. Experience using continuously for 3 hours, I did not encounter any phase interruption of any signal on my Bphone 3. Both headphones and devices support the Bluetooth 5.0 standard, which provides a good audio experience. When watching the video, the singer’s mouth sings the sentence A and the sentence to B is almost nonexistent, maybe in songs like Eminem’s Rap God, you are dimly aware. When playing games like PUBG or Fortnite, the gunfire will go after a picture of about 0.1-0.2s depending on the case. It is still acceptable because Bluetooth’s capabilities are currently limited.
As for the sound, Pamu Slide has quite similar sound quality to Pamu T5. That means the sound will still be vibrant, hitting the bass but balanced and not so much encroached as the Pamu X13 or bass fighters like Pamu Scroll. Bass on Pamu Slide beat quite well, average speed, good sub-bass. The mid sound is warm, slightly backward but still quite clear, easy to hear. The band of treb has a moderate amount, not too jingle but enough to give the music more joyful. Overall, Pamu Slide’s sound is still very easy to hear, playful, suitable for genres like Pop, R&B, or Hip-hop.
Another point I like when using Pamu Slide is the one-touch touch control. The touch is very responsive, easy to manipulate, not the same type of tap tap as on Apple Airpods. Controlling the transfer, increasing or decreasing the volume is always very convenient.
10 hours of real battery life is not a question that many of you will ask. I turned them on at 50% volume after fully charging both batteries and the results really surprised me. 10h39 minutes is Pamu Slide’s survival time. Of course, if you have a test, the results will not be the same as 100% but it will only be 1-2 hours apart, so it is too good for a True Wireless headset.
SUMMARY
Pamu Slide is a headset that adds all the missing and weak features on the Apple Airpods at a much cheaper price. With what Pamu has shown on the X13 or Scroll, I believe that Pamu Slide will become the hottest low-cost True Wireless headset in the near future.
